Porch Pavers Installed

About a year ago we started working on the back porch and today it's finally complete with the addition of thin pavers! Check out the pictures by clicking below... we hired a company called Paver Works and are VERY happy with the results. Now it's time to decorate and enjoy!

Running with the iPhone

Donette and I went for a run today, yes the first in a very long time! We are going to run Gasparilla and want to start getting in shape to try and finish 3 miles in 35 minutes. So I read an article about this free iPhone application that tracks the stats on your run. Here's the output from our run today... pretty slick! It's a little off at the end as we didn't run through the lake behind our house onto Cross Creek. Overall it's pretty impressive for a FREE application.

Today was an upgrade day for the table saw! I purchased a really nice 60 tooth Freud blade and it's amazing how much cleaner of a cut you get with it versus the blade that came with the saw.

We both finished the 5K this morning!! Donette finished in 37 minutes and I finished in 40 minutes. Not too bad for deciding to run last night!! Time to go home and take a few Advil and a NAP!! :-)

Television Stand

Dad bought a new Samsung HDTV this week and it's being delivered on Sunday. So, he needed to build a stand to match the current entertainment center that is in the living room. 8 hours later... we have a knotty pine 60inch High Definition TV stand :-) This will look sweet in mom and dad's living room!

I took a trip up to visit my buddy Jeremy and build this cabinet for the guest bathroom. It was an awesome weekend learning some great tips and using some really fantastic tools! Here are some pictures you can check out that documents the weekend!

Christmas 2007

The Christmas season has come to a close. HOORAY! No more worrying about who got what gifts and how long you had to stay at each family members home! All the fun has been taken out of the holiday season by getting older. Gone are the days of staying awake to see what gifts Santa brought you. Now you just have to worry about spending thousands of dollars on gifts and wondering who will like what you got them.

Anyways............. Our tree was awesome this year. Donette and I picked out this HUGE tree at Lowes and she decorated is beautifully. This thing was every bit of 10 feet tall and it scraped the ceiling with the tree topper on. It was beautiful and helped us get through the holiday season! :-) So I toast the Christmas Tree for it's beauty and strength... and it's ability to make this season worth it :-)

Thanksgiving 2007

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year. It was great to spend time with our family. We deep fried two turkeys and had a bunch of amazing food. We even brought out the Nintendo Wii and the whole family got involved! Check out the pictures here:

Ladder Shelves

Dad and I put together some ladder shelves for Donette's office. She found these in the Pottery Barn catalog and I wanted to see if I could make them for less than the $300 they were charging!

In the end, it worked out well... we put it together for about $100 in materials.
It really stands on it's own well and looks great in her office. The curves on the shelves give it a nice look. It was fun to build too!

Well, as you have probably noticed this website looks a little different. I'm trying this new Blogger thing to see how it goes. What's neat about this is that Donette and I have the ability to update the website right from our iPhone so MAYBE this will get updated a little more frequently! :-)

Our Boston Trip

Donette and I took a short trip up to Boston this weekend to explore and check out a Red Sox game. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge which was right next to MIT and Harvard. We did a lot in the 72 hours we were there! It was a great experience and we took a ton of pictures to share with everyone. Check them out and comment on them if you can!
